Copper & Cobalt Logistics

Copper cathode, blister and concentrate, and cobalt hydroxide moved from Kolwezi, Lubumbashi, Kitwe and Solwezi to the coast and on to the buyer.

(01)Copperbelt logistics

The Copperbelt, connected to the coast.

Copper and cobalt from Zambia and the DRC travel thousands of kilometres by road and rail before they reach a ship. Gleatz plans that journey for mines, traders and buyers: trucking from Kolwezi, Lubumbashi, Kitwe, Ndola and Solwezi, border clearance at Kasumbalesa, Chirundu and Beitbridge, and export through Durban, Dar es Salaam, Walvis Bay, Beira or Lobito.

On the way back, we move the fuel, reagents, sulphur and spares the mines need. Every route is compared on border times, port congestion and cost before we quote.
